Prairie View Nurses Alumni Chapter General Scholarship

• Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors
• Applicant must major in Nursing
• Applicant must have a major GPA of 2.5
• Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Essay required: state in 100 words of less need for scholarship
• Applicant must be full time
• Scholarship is need based
• Applicant must demonstrate leadership abilities; submit two letters of recommendation (letter from one faculty member and a sponsor of one of the organizations verifiying active membership and participation.)
• Applicant must provide five and ten year career goals
• Applicant must submit essay 100 words or less on " Why chose Nursing as my Profession"
• Applicant must have a personal interview with the scholarship committee
• Applicant must be active in civic and community organizations, eg American Red Cross, church, sorority, health fairs, etc.
• Scholarship will be awarded to two undergraduate students in the upper division program applied to his/her fall financial award package.
  Total dollar amount that each student may receive is $1000/ $500 each semester.
  The scholarship will be awarded at the annual Prairie View Nurses Alumni Chapter Scholarship banquet.
  If the student is to graduate in the fall semester, the student shall have the full amount of $1000 applied to his/ her financial award package.
