Recommendation***

  • Applicant must be a sophomore
  • Award is $5000 per applicant
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need
  • Applicants will work in collaboration with the Director of the RJS Center for Race and Justice
  • Applicant must have a grade point average of at least 3.0
  • Applicant must participate in a leadership role within a community or school organization
  • Applicant must have a demonstrated interest in the pursuit of social justice and equality
  • Applicant must demonstrate a willingness to commit 20 (twenty hours of volunteer service during the 2021-2022 academic year on behalf of an organization (to be selected by the student from a pre-approved list) during the 2021-22 school year
  • Applicant must demonstrate a willingness to submit a 500+ word blog for a possible publication upon completion of the volunteer service project, and contribute to other media and promotional materials
  • Applicant must demonstrate a willingness to report on the experience at a Coalition meeting and/ or ADL Southwest Regional Board meeting
  • Applicant must demonstrate a willingness to receive mentorship from leaders with the program
